Caroline {Newborn} ⎥ Outer Banks Family Photographer

I’m kicking off 2021 by showing you a session that didn’t get blogged earlier! If there’s one thing I love about being an Outer Banks Family Photographer, it’s getting to photograph snuggly sweet newborns. I’m super super excited to have sweet baby Caroline’s newborn photos on the blog today – even if it was a little bit of an unusual situation! When this session took place we should have been prepping for a new season of weddings & family portraits…instead we were in “lockdown”.

Imagine awaiting the arrival of your newest little addition….in the middle of a pandemic. Well that’s exactly how Alex found herself! Already working from home with a toddler and realizing you’re going to bring a baby home without the support of your family and friends. I can’t even imagine what that could have felt like. Having been a new mom – that support when you come home is so important! When their original newborn session was cancelled, and an attempt at DIYing it themselves, I decided to get a little creative and help them have newborn photos they’ll cherish forever.

After dropping a couple of baskets off in their front yard, and giving them a healthy coating of Lysol, I came back a few hours later for their session. Mom and dad did an amazing job of gathering their own blankets/swaddles and taking instruction to wrap and place little Caroline in the basket and move her around wherever I needed! I was able to capture some sweet moments of her solo and with her family, all from a safe distance! I’m so glad they were able to have these moments forever captured!
