Snow Engagement | Outer Banks Wedding Photographer

The Outer Banks is experiencing what we jokingly call “snowmagedden” or “snOBX”. We started yesterday with sleet and ice around 3pm and it continued until around midnight when it turned into snow. This morning we all woke up to an OBX Winter Wonderland! Most areas are holding somewhere around 6-8 inches. If you’re not familiar with an Outer Banks winter, this is NOT normal!!! We maybe get some snow flurries every few years, but the last time we saw this kind of accumulation was somewhere around 1989.

Of course this kind of snow also comes with a few downsides….like the entire OBX is shut down! Sort of. We definitely don’t have the resources to handle this kind of weather so most people are staying off the road and business are closed. The plus side? SNOW SHOOTS!!!

As soon as I knew for sure we were getting snow, I started plotting some snow shoots in my head. I mean, who doesn’t love snow?? Alex & Rob came out along with Holly & Chris for some snow engagement photos. We had a blast at the Island Farm in Manteo prancing through the snow.

First up – Holly & Chris:

It wouldn’t be a snow day without a little snowball fight. These guys were ruthless….I’m pretty sure it was payback for having to not only do photos, but do them in the snow!

I’m pretty sure Chris will be paying for this move for the rest of his life……
