Welcome, I’m Courtney. Lover of saltwater, boat days, and sunsets.

In 2003 I was a doe-eyed college kid, on track to become a teacher. Fate stepped in and I jumped in headfirst to photograph a family wedding when their photographer cancelled. That moment changed the trajectory of my life, and I’m forever grateful. I instantly saw the world differently, changing my major from education to photography, and never looked back.

Love is the center of our lives, and capturing love within couples and family is the greatest gift.

I’ve been happily photographing love & family throughout the Outer Banks & beyond since 2006. A life-long resident of Roanoke Island, I’m passionate about sharing my love of our special little sandbar with my clients.

I started this journey before marriage & motherhood, and every step of the way has given me a unique perspective to see photography through a different set of eyes.

In 2012 I married my high-school sweetheart, Rob, after 12 amazing years and a lot of adventures together. Together we’ve built a life I could have never dreamed, and firmly believe our love story has shaped the photographer I am. The arrival of our sweet boys, Cooper (2018) & Sawyer (2021), added a new layer of how I approach storytelling.

When not capturing memories for others, I’m making my own with my family….spending our down time on boat rides to Hatteras, beach days, and time with friends & family. We happily split time between our home in Manteo and the Jaco, Herradura area of Costa Rica during the winters.

My Favorite Things

02. Love

My husband and I are high-school sweethearts, together 12 years before getting married and about to celebrate 24 years together. I truly believe in love stories.

04. Coastal Sunsets

There’s absolutely nothing you can’t fix by watching the sun set over the water. I feel so blessed to have called the Outer banks my home my entire life.

01. My family.

My three boys make my world go round and remind me that the moments are fleeting.

03. Front Porch Bed Swing

most mornings you can find me slow sipping my coffee on the porch swing watching the brids fly over our neighborhood marina.

Above all, choose love

I can’t wait to tell your story of love & family

I’m so honored you’re considering me to document your life. The true meaning of life is not just who you are, but what you leave behind.
