Travel has always been woven into the fabric of my family. Whether we’re spending the winter months in Costa Rica, exploring somewhere new with our boys, or chasing the next adventure, experiencing new places together is one of the things we value most. So when couples invite me to document their wedding in a new location, it never feels like “work travel” – it feels like the perfect blend of two things I love most: celebrating incredible people and discovering beautiful places.

My approach to wedding photography remains the same no matter where your celebration takes place. I photograph with an editorial eye, creating timeless, magazine-worthy images that still feel genuine, effortless, and true to you. The most meaningful photographs are rarely the ones you plan—they’re the quiet glances, joyful embraces, windswept walks, and all the in-between moments that tell the real story of your day.

Connection is at the heart of everything I do. The more I get to know you, your families, and the vision you’ve created, the more intentional and personal your photographs become. I’ll blend seamlessly into the background when those candid moments unfold naturally, while offering gentle guidance whenever it’s needed so you always feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.

Destination wedding collections begin with 8 hours of coverage, allowing me to document your day from the anticipation of getting ready through the energy of the dance floor. Every celebration is unique, so we’ll work together to create a photography timeline that fits your plans perfectly. Travel is always customized based on your location, and I’ll handle every detail so you can simply enjoy your wedding knowing everything has been taken care of.

engagement sessions

Your love story starts with “Yes”!

A key component to building a relationship with our wedding couples is through their engagement session. We feel so passionately about getting to know our couples that we include a complimentary engagement session in our packages. While certainly not required, we believe it’s an important part of our wedding workflow.

Often the engagement session are the only professional photos a couple will have together in non-wedding attire, and they’re a great addition to the collection of photos that will tell your love story.

We encourage our couples to choose a location that feels meaningful to them and their relationship. If it’s including your favorite hobby (like boating, golf, the beach, the mountains, etc) we are happy to help come up with something that feels authentic to you.

**Complimentary sessions must take place within 60 miles of 27954, however we are happy to travel to alternate locations if you have something else in mind. Travel fees apply, please inquire with us about your specific location.

You may be wondering…

Each of our couples are booked within our online client system, we try to make it as easy as possible. We do require a signed contract and 50% of the wedding package due at booking to officially reserve the date. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the wedding date.

Engagement sessions are complimentary and included in our wedding collections as a wonderful opportunity for us to work together before your wedding day. They give you a chance to become comfortable in front of the camera while allowing us to get to know each other, making your wedding day feel even more relaxed and natural. While you’re certainly not required to use your complimentary engagement session, it is included as part of your collection and the package price remains the same whether you choose to take advantage of it or not.

As soon as you’ve officially booked your wedding, you’re welcome to start planning your engagement session! Many couples choose to schedule them anywhere from several months to a year before the wedding, but the timing is entirely up to you.

If you’ll be traveling for your session, I recommend planning to be in town for at least a few days. This gives us flexibility in case we need to adjust for weather, while also making the experience feel much more relaxed. Keep in mind that spring and fall are peak wedding seasons, so weekday sessions are often the easiest to accommodate during those months.

If you’ve always envisioned your engagement session somewhere meaningful beyond the Outer Banks, whether it’s your favorite city, the mountains, your college campus, or even an international destination, I’d love to make that happen. Travel for engagement sessions is always welcome, with travel fees customized based on the location.

We encourage all couples regardless of wedding size to have a planner or DOC. We feel it’s an essential addition to the wedding day team, and allows us the ability to be fully focused on capturing your day. We believe a qualified and experienced planner is an essential part of a wedding day, and the weddings featured on our website and socials were all coordinated by a planner.

After your wedding day we typically have a quick little preview posted to our socials within the next 1-2 days. The full gallery is ready within 8-12 weeks of your wedding date. Your final gallery will be emailed to you ready for downloading and sharing with your family and friends.

Hey there, I’m Courtney!

I am a true believer in love stories. In 2012 I married my high-school sweetheart, Rob, after 12 years. Together we’ve shared a journey that has been rich with memories, and cultivated the most amazing life full of adventure. We met and married at Pirates Cove Marina, right here on the Outer Banks and now have two little coastal cuties of our own. Our boys, Cooper & Sawyer, are the perfect little mix of salty & sweet, and really help drive home the importance of preserving moments.

You could say the water is the essence of our foundation. Our lives revolve around boating and billfish, and many of my couples are also most at home on the water. Avid travelers, we currently split our time between our home on the Outer Banks and the Herradura region of Costa Rica.

As I start my 19th year as a wedding photographer, I love looking back on all the events I got to play a small part of. We absolutely cherish the weddings we get to photograph – from the coast to the mountains and everywhere between.
