When Cotten first reached out about scheduling an Outer Banks Beach Engagement Session, she sent over a few examples of the vibe she was going for – which was a mixture of both romantic and playful photos. I absolutely LOVE when couples are willing to “let their hair down” and be in the moment. I prepped them ahead of time that getting playful photos is only partly due to my gentle prompting, but they’d really need to lean into their natural chemistry. These two took their job seriously, even telling me they’d practiced at home! The day of their session was rainy and a little gloomy, but with her hair freshly done at Glimmer, we decided to just roll with the punches and embrace the rain. Their session is proof you can make magic in the most unexpected ways. There was a very light sprinkle as we started on the beach, but you’d never know it in 90% of their photos. We started up in the dunes, worked down by the water, and then took a break for a quick outfit change. These two nailed their session and it was worth every second of wet snuggles as we laughed and played along the beaches of Nags Head.
