Jody and Thomas are getting married in just a few short weeks, and I’m so glad we were able to fit in their Outer Banks Engagement Session while they were in town finalizing the last of their details.
I absolutely LOVE getting to be an Outer Banks Wedding Photographer because you get to be with people during the happiest times! I knew that Thomas had popped the question just over the Oregon Inlet Bridge in Nags Head, and so it was only fitting we do part of their engagement session there. In an effort to have a little variety, we started their session at the Bodie Island Lighthouse. To say that our weather has been a little crazy thus far this year would be an understatement. We’ve had almost 80℉ day in February (crazy!!!) and days where it dipped back down near 40℉ in April. As luck would have it the days leading up to their engagement session were pretty windy and chilly, and the wind still hadn’t let up. Jody was such a trooper, and luckily she’d just come from her hair trial with Glimmer and had the perfect look for a windy beach day!
We started off with overcast skies at the lighthouse, but by the time we’d crossed the Oregon Inlet Bridge the sun was shining! This was the exact spot where Thomas proposed and the perfect place to walk among the dunes for their session. They brought along their adorable pup, Dakota, who was so sweet and well behaved. Seriously, she puts my two to shame! She had a blast running around the beach chasing a ball and relaxing in the shade of the dune. Their amazing wedding planner, Beth w/ Engaging Events, came along to help wrangle Dakota and we could not have asked for a more perfect day!
Their wedding is just around the corner and I’m so excited for their big day. They have the best lineup of vendors and everything should be perfect!
