Hunter & Gaby’s Nags Head Proposal

With the ocean as their witness and the breeze carrying their joy, Hunter asked, and Gaby answered with the easiest “yes.

On a gorgeous late summer day, what Gaby thought was just a dinner out turned out to be the beginning of “forever”. A few weeks before Hunter reached out to say he’d be on vacation in the area was planning on proposing to Gaby. We discussed our options, knowing he wanted the beach, and ultimately settled on the Outer Banks Fishing Pier & Fish Heads Bar.

The goal was for Gaby to think they were going for a relaxed dinner on the pier with live music and a gorgeous ocean view. Knowing how crazy the pier can get in the late afternoons and evenings, we had already decided Islington St. access would be our spot. A little white lie to say they needed to park there and walk down the beach to the pier. As predicted the pier was hoppin’ – and it was the perfect excuse!

One of my favorite parts of proposals is getting to blend in, an unsuspecting beachgoer. With my beach chair, bag, and sunhat, Gaby didn’t even realize I was anything more than a lady enjoying some quiet time. As they headed out to the beach we the most perfect uninterrupted area for the sweetest proposal. We spent the rest of our time together capturing their love on the beach before they headed off to dinner.
